Stunning!

Though I'm bad, as my thought at the end was: 'All that just to be able to work in an office.'

(Hopefully it makes more sense here...;)

Yes, much better than too interesting times.

Though I also wondered what the women were up to all those long years, other than working in a mill for a little while.

I did? That's most odd, as I normally do notice them.

Ah - I remember it now.

Well, I'm sure you dreamed of being a tractor-diver when a little girl, yes?

Quite a mix! There's been plenty of soldier-writers, but I can't think of any actress-soldiers!

I thought a lot about animation when young, but I had no tech at all to produce it with. And spent little time drawing, either. I was born 20 years too soon.

And I'd sit at your feet, grasshopper-like. I'm Currently reading about ancient Egypt and have just finished a book about the Middle Ages.

(And now I'm wondering if 'grasshopper' has crossed the cultural divide...?)

Oh, and I know now I was born to be a programmer, which was something I had no way of doing until I was near 30.

Well, I don't earn my living from programming, so not quite a fulfilled dream yet.

As to being a professor, I'm sure doing is more rewarding than teaching. Assuming you're doing something you want to do, of course.
