The Iranian foods are very delicious and mostly vegetable based and organic. Although you would also have a wide range of meat, chicken and fish based foods but here is no pork available in Iran.

It is safe to say that least needed time for the issuance touristy visa this way is 4 to 6 weeks

absolutely real :) Iran is the place you MUST see and maybe this year is the last time when you have a chance to do it without risking your life. what if they are seriously contemplating a new revolution...

[identity profile] stillcarl.livejournal.com 2009-06-22 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really feel like visiting any countries, but that's just me at this point in time. Just too busy.

It's hard to know what's happening in Iran, not that I've been trying to follow the situation. I doubt it's a new revolution they want - more just elections that are transparently honest. But then I've heard that a non-secular state is contrary to Islamic teachings, but how true that is I don't know. Hopefully they'll come to a suitable compromise.

I don't care about Iran, honestly, I just want to see Persia. Bad luck Persia is just in this damned Iran now :)

[identity profile] stillcarl.livejournal.com 2009-06-24 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Persia! Totally different. :) And what is it about Persia that interests you? The ruins of past glory, or the place?

Oddly enough, I received a book sellers' pamphlet this week with two books about Persia on sale at 60 and 80 percent discounts. Still not cheap as cheap books go though, especially when shipping's taken into account. And there's other ones I'm more interested in personally if I was feeling extravagant, which I'm not. I think...
